About

Merritt Simon is an experienced Washington DC–based national security consultant advising private sector senior leaders on critical national security policies and geopolitical risk. She specializes in economic security, with deep expertise in strategic technology competition, supply chain resilience, and geoeconomics. Merritt works closely with her clients to help them assess risk, align business strategy with government policies, and navigate an increasingly complex global environment. Merritt's regional expertise includes U.S.-China policy dynamics as well as the Western Hemisphere where she spent time working in Buenos Aires, Argentina.

Prior to relocating to Washington DC in 2017, Merritt worked at a Chicago-based private equity firm investing in emerging markets covering capital markets, investor relations, and compliance. She holds a BA in International Studies and Minor in Spanish Literature and Language from the University of Chicago and an MA in International Economics and Latin American Studies from the Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS). Merritt lives in Washington DC with her husband, son, and two dogs.
