Jaime Ocon (歐海美) is a security analyst specializing in Taiwan’s defense, cross-Strait relations, and Indo-Pacific security. He is currently a Master’s candidate in Georgetown University’s Security Studies Program and was awarded the prestigious Weintal Scholarship for his contributions to diplomatic journalism. He is a Research Fellow with the Taiwan Security Monitor and a member of the National Committee on U.S.-China Relations. Jaime hopes to leverage primary-source research, professional Mandarin fluency, and his on-the-ground experiences to inform strategic decision-making.

Previously, Jaime was the lead defense reporter for TaiwanPlus, the country’s largest English-language TV channel, where he was embedded with the ROC Armed Forces for nearly five years. He has covered pivotal events like the 2022 cross-Strait crisis and high-level diplomatic engagements, providing analysis on Taiwan’s military modernization and regional geopolitical events. Jaime completed his B.A. in Diplomacy from National Chengchi University under a full government scholarship from Taiwan.
