Key findings

  • Japan’s share of industrial robot exports has remained stable at around 21 percent of exports since the start of 2025.
  • China’s share of exports increased from 9 percent in Q1 2024 to 18 percent in Q2 2026.
  • The United States was the fifth largest exporter in Q2 2026 (accounting for 5 percent of exports) and the largest importer (accounting for 20 percent of imports). The leading sources of U.S. imports of industrial robots and certain parts in Q2 2026 were Japan (21 percent of imports), Germany (14 percent), and Korea (11 percent).
